The CA Library Learning Commons
At Cardinal Ambrozic, the Library Learning Commons is the learning hub of the school! LLC staff promote a culture of creativity, collaboration, and inclusivity. LLC staff provide students with resources that promote the development of learning and literacy. The LLC supports the Ministry of Education’s curriculum expectations and cultivates an attitude of curiosity and life-long learning. The development of research skills, the ethical use of resources, the effective use of texts and technology, and the promotion of literacy and literature is a focus in our LLC. The library works in conjunction with classroom teachers in delivering specific course curriculum.
STARTspace is a room in the Learning Commons specially designed to complement classroom learning. It acts to enhance and reinforce 21st Century competencies. It is a zone where students can gather to work collaboratively on tasks, all while accessing readily available technology in a highly focused, comfortable, and flexible workspace. Start Space is ideal for group work, tasks, ventures, cross-curricular projects, and event planning and allows students to foster their own unique learning environment.
